Nikhil Mhatre

Nikhil Devnath Mhatre, born on June 28, 2002, in Wadkhal, Raigad, Maharashtra, is a promising Kabaddi player representing Raigad District in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. Hailing from Wadkhal, Raigad, Nikhil's roots are grounded in agriculture, with both his father, Devanath Mhatre, and his mother, Darshana, working as farmers. He shares his journey with his elder brother, Nishant, who also plays Kabaddi, drawing inspiration from the vibrant Kabaddi culture in their village. Nikhil's tryst with Kabaddi began at the age of 10, inspired by watching kids in his village passionately play the sport. Specializing as a Right Raider, Nikhil's versatility shines through as he excels in tackles from the IN position, showcasing adeptness in maneuvers like the Back Kick and Chain Block. Under the guidance of coach Sanjay Mhatre at Hanuman Kreeda Mandal Bhori, Nikhil hones his skills with dedication and perseverance. Inspired by former Indian Kabaddi player Anup Kumar, renowned as the "Captain Cool" of Kabaddi, Nikhil admires Anup's exceptional skills and leadership qualities. Representing at the Junior State Championships in Raigad, Nikhil's Kabaddi journey is marked by notable achievements, including being recognized as the Best Player in the Jai Malla local Tournament. Beyond Kabaddi, Nikhil's passion extends to cricket, actively participating in the sport alongside his Kabaddi endeavors. Although he completed his education up to 10th standard, Nikhil's aspirations transcend academics; he dreams of making his mark in the Pro Kabaddi League, driven by his love for the sport and his determination to excel on the Kabaddi mat.
