Viraj Patil

Viraj Patil, born on October 25, 2002, in Roha, Maharashtra, is a versatile Kabaddi player representing Raigad District in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. Hailing from Roha, Maharashtra, Viraj's upbringing is rooted in a supportive family environment, with his father, Sharad Patil, serving as a dedicated school teacher, and his mother, Sangeeta Patil, managing the household. He shares his journey with his elder sister, although she does not partake in Kabaddi. Viraj's tryst with Kabaddi commenced at the age of 12, where he displayed proficiency as an All-Rounder, excelling in both the Left Cover and Left Raider positions. His skill set includes adeptness in executing the Running Chain and Running Hand Touch maneuvers, attributes honed under the tutelage of his father, Sharad Patil, at the Jay Bajrang Academy in Roha. Inspired by local Kabaddi player Raj Jangam, renowned for his High Flyer skill, Viraj aspires to replicate his idol's success on the Kabaddi mat. Having represented in the Junior State championships, Viraj's Kabaddi journey is already marked by notable achievements. Notably, he emerged as the Man of the Match in the Roha League, securing victory and earning a cycle as recognition for his outstanding performance. Beyond Kabaddi, Viraj harbors a passion for various sports, including chess, kho kho, and cricket, actively participating in them alongside his Kabaddi endeavors. Currently pursuing a Diploma in Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Viraj nurtures aspirations of representing India on the Kabaddi stage, driven by his passion and determination to excel in the sport.
