Growing up in a supportive family environment, with his father, Anil, working in a company, and his mother, Sunanda, a homemaker, Mukesh found solace and encouragement to pursue his dreams alongside his elder brother, Parkash, and elder sister, Ashwini. As a Left Raider, Mukesh possesses an innate ability to execute precise hand touches, making him a formidable opponent on the kabaddi mat. Under the tutelage of his coaches, Shinde Sir and Ajay Jalte, at the Shivneri Kridamandal, Mukesh hones his skills, drawing inspiration from kabaddi stalwart Pawan Sehrawat.
