Sohel Shaikh

Sohel Yunus Shaikh, born on October 10, 2001, hails from Mandani Ahmadpur, Maharashtra, where he currently resides. Son of Yunus Shaikh, a farmer, and Shabana Yunus Shaikh, a homemaker, Sohel grew up surrounded by the rural charm of his hometown. Despite being from a farming background, Sohel's passion for kabaddi ignited during his college years at the age of 18. Primarily a left raider on the kabaddi mat, Sohel's agility and precision in executing toe touches make him a formidable force during raids. Under the guidance of his coach, Sharad Mane, Sohel hones his skills at the college ground of Mahatma Gandhi Maha Vidyalay, striving to perfect his craft. Inspired by the jumping prowess of Aslam Inamdar, Sohel admires his favorite player's ability to soar high and outwit defenders. Beyond kabaddi, Sohel finds solace in cricket, showcasing his versatility in sports. With notable representations at the Junior and Senior State levels, along with University Nationals in 2021, Sohel has already left an indelible mark in Maharashtra's kabaddi circuit. Among his career highlights is clinching the silver medal for the best raider in a district under-19 match, showcasing his prowess and potential in the sport. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Arts, Sohel harbors aspirations of making a mark in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), driven by his passion and dedication to kabaddi. With his skills and determination, Sohel aims to carve a successful career in kabaddi while inspiring others with his journey from the fields of Mandani Ahmadpur to the kabaddi arenas of national acclaim.
