Sagar Sampat Gawade, born on October 19, 2007, hails from Karhavagai, Nandurbar, Maharashtra. Currently residing in Baramati, Nandurbar, Maharashtra, Sagar's journey in kabaddi commenced in 2016 when his friend Varun introduced him to Dadaso Awad, a renowned NIS Coach. Under the guidance of Coach Awad and other mentors like Deepak, Akash Ingule, Datta Chavan, and Mohan Kachre, Sagar honed his skills at the Baramati Sports Academy. Specializing as a Left Cover Defender, Sagar's expertise lies in executing thigh holds with precision, effectively thwarting opponent raids. His admiration for Dadaso Awad, both a PKL Player and NIS Coach, stems from Awad's coaching acumen and on-field prowess. Despite his dedication to kabaddi, Sagar values his education, currently pursuing studies up to the 12th standard. Alongside kabaddi, he also dabbles in cricket. Sagar's career highlights include representing his state in 2023, securing 3rd place, and earning the accolade of the best defender in the Junior State Kabaddi Championship.
