Abhishek Pawar

Abhishek Narayan Pawar, born on June 10, 2006, in Patharwadi, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, hails from a farming family, with his father Narayan Keru Pawar and mother Asha Pawar. Growing up in Patharwadi, Abhishek discovered his passion for kabaddi at the age of 16 when he was approached by Prafull Zaware, a kabaddi enthusiast, who encouraged him to join Midline Academy in Karjat. Under the guidance of coaches Aniket Mhatre, Ravindra Ghade, and Shantanu Pandav, Abhishek honed his skills, specializing in the art of the Back Hold technique. Despite starting his kabaddi journey relatively late, Abhishek's determination and hard work led him to represent his district in various tournaments, including the Junior State Championship in 2022, where his team secured the 2nd place. His favorite moment came during the KMP Yuva Kabaddi Series 2022 in a match against Nashik, where he played for Team Ahmednagar and was awarded the title of the Best Defender of the match, a memory he cherishes dearly. Outside of kabaddi, Abhishek enjoys playing cricket and draws inspiration from his elder sister Neha, who also used to play kabaddi at the district level. He admires Prafull Zaware, for sparking his interest in the sport and for his remarkable skills on the field. Abhishek's aspirations extend to playing in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and securing a government job in the future, embodying his dedication to both his sporting career and his personal growth.
