Born on May 1, 2000, in Pondicherry, Sanjeevi Dharan hails from Puducherry (UT). Raised in a humble family, with his father Baskaran M working as a Coolie and his mother Malliga K as a Housewife, Sanjeevi found his passion for kabaddi at a young age. Inspired by friends and cousins who played kabaddi and motivated by the presence of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in Pondicherry, Sanjeevi began his kabaddi journey in childhood. Despite facing initial challenges, his determination and love for the sport drove him to pursue kabaddi seriously. Sanjeevi's preferred position on the kabaddi court is as a Right Raider, where his agility and quick reflexes make him a formidable opponent. His favorite skill, the Handtouch, reflects his ability to outmaneuver defenders with swift and decisive movements. Under the guidance of coaches Vanidasan and Puviyarasan at Vels University, Sanjeevi has honed his skills and represented his university in prestigious tournaments like the South Zone University and All India University, earning a silver medal for Vels University in 2023-2024. Beyond kabaddi, Sanjeevi's sister Pavithra is a National-level athlete, showcasing the family's sporting pedigree. While cricket is his favorite sport apart from kabaddi, Sanjeevi also enjoys playing various other sports. Currently pursuing a BBA degree, now in his second year, Sanjeevi's career highlights include his participation in the All India University tournament 2023-2024. With aspirations of securing a government job, Sanjeevi continues to dedicate himself to kabaddi, driven by his passion for the sport and desire for success.
