P Rabel Pown Raj

P. Rabel is an exciting young kabaddi talent from the quaint town of Lekshmipuram in Thenkasi, Tamil Nadu. Born on May 11, 2006, his journey in kabaddi started at just eight years old, inspired by the gameplay of his father, R. Ponraj, a passionate player himself. This early spark ignited a passion that has now blossomed into serious commitment, as Rabel continues to honor his father's legacy on the mat. As an all-rounder, Rabel shines in the roles of Right Corner Defender and Right Raider. His favorite skills, the Bonus and Hand Touch, reflect his agility and tactical know-how, making him a formidable competitor. With guidance from his father and his relative Murugan, Rabel trains relentlessly at Karpagam College, where he hones his skills and deepens his love for the sport. Currently, Rabel is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce with Computer Applications, while simultaneously representing his district and competing at the Junior State level for Tamil Nadu in 2022 and 2023. Beyond kabaddi, he enjoys athletics, particularly high jump and hurdles, showcasing his athletic versatility. With dreams of donning the national jersey and making waves internationally, it’s clear that Rabel is just getting started on a promising path in kabaddi.
