Meet Manav Sharma, a dynamic player born on January 20, 2003, in the vibrant town of Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Growing up in a close-knit family with his father, Rakesh Chander, who drives for a living, and his mother, Shoba Sharma, a dedicated homemaker, Manav learned the values of hard work and perseverance early on. He has an elder brother who shares his passion for kabaddi, making the sport a cherished family bond. Manav's journey in kabaddi began at just 13 years old. Under the guidance of his coach, Sandeep Sandhu, he honed his skills for six to seven years at Tarantar Academy. Playing as a Left Corner Defender, he has developed impressive skills, especially his favorite techniques like the ankle hold and running chain. His dedication paid off when he played a pivotal role in winning the Under-18 club championship and also represented Hoshiarpur at the State Championship. Currently enrolled in his Bachelor’s degree, he's balancing education with his sport, dreaming of donning the Team India jersey one day. Inspired by hardworking players like Maninder Singh, Manav aspires to mirror such honesty and confidence on the mat. Always up for a challenge, he also enjoys cricket in his free time, but kabaddi remains his true passion. With dreams in his heart and determination in his stride, the future looks bright for Manav Sharma.
