Dheeraj

Born on September 14, 2005, in the vibrant town of Fazilka, Punjab, Dheeraj's journey in kabaddi is as inspiring as it is unique. Growing up in a close-knit family, his father Rajveer, a dedicated farmer, and his mother Suman, a loving homemaker, instilled in him the values of hard work and resilience. With an elder sister, Shanlini, and a younger brother, Neeraj, supporting him every step of the way, Dheeraj's upbringing was filled with encouragement and love. Dheeraj stepped into the world of kabaddi at the age of 15, embarking on his training journey at Karma Academy under the watchful eyes of Coach Karman Jit Singh. His signature move, the Running Chain Hold, highlights his agility and strategic play, making him a formidable Left Cover Defender. He often draws inspiration from his idol, Rakesh Munna, whose perfect blend of raiding and defending skills motivates him to push his own limits. Competing at both junior and senior national levels, Dheeraj proudly represents Punjab and dreams of donning the Indian jersey one day. Balancing his studies up to the 12th standard with his training, he also enjoys athletics and the javelin throw. With passion in his heart and determination in his stride, Dheeraj is eager to face the exciting challenges that await him on the mat.
