Tanvir Singh

Born on January 9, 2004, in the tranquil village of Nandbela in Bilaspur, this young athlete grew up surrounded by the scenic beauty of Himachal Pradesh. While his roots are firmly planted in the mountains thanks to his mother's hometown, he currently calls Rupnagar, Punjab, his home. The values of hard work and determination were instilled in him by his father, Ranvir Singh, a devoted driver, and his supportive mother, Kashmir Kaur, a dedicated housewife. He shares a close bond with his younger sister, Komalpreet Kaur, although she chooses to pursue different interests. His journey into the world of kabaddi began at the age of 15, inspired by the players he watched in his village. Drawn to the energy and excitement of the sport, he took his first steps under the guidance of coach Manish at the Jarnail Hari Singh Nalwa Academy in Kalota. As a right raider, he quickly found his stride, with his kick becoming his signature move. In 2023, he made his mark at the Junior State tournament in Rohpad, where he was celebrated as the best raider. With aspirations to join the Indian Army, he continues his pursuit of excellence both in sports and academics, currently studying for a Bachelor of Arts as a second-year undergraduate. Inspired by his favorite player Rohit Kumar, he dreams big and is determined to carve his path in kabaddi and beyond.
