Atamjit Singh was born on October 19, 2006, in the charming village of Guruwali, Amritsar, where the spirit of kabaddi runs deep in the heart of the locals. Growing up in Punjab, he was fortunate to be nurtured by a family that embraced his passion for the sport. His father, Ram Singh, is not just a dedicated parent but also a passionate kabaddi coach who shaped Atamjit’s early involvement in the game. His mother, Maninder Kaur, always there to support him, played a vital role in fostering his ambitions. Atamjit took his first steps into the world of kabaddi at the age of 16, honing his skills under the expert guidance of coach Parveen Rathi for the last two years at MDU University in Haryana. As a Right Raider, he has developed a fondness for the 'Dubki' maneuver, and he has also excelled at the ‘Bonus’ skill. Influenced by favorite players like Rinku Sharma and Pardeep Narwal, Atamjit aspires to master techniques, particularly solo tackles. Though his journey in major competitions like Khelo India is yet to begin, reaching the semi-finals in the Under-19 State Championship in Gurdaspur is a significant milestone that showcases his potential. The young athlete dreams of making a name for himself on the international kabaddi stage. When he's not on the mat, you can find him enjoying a game of cricket, where his passion for sports shines just as brightly. Atamjit’s journey is only beginning, and with goals set high, he’s ready to make his mark.
