Manikandan. D, born on July 2, 1999, in Kadampakudi, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, and currently residing in Trichy due to work commitments, hails from a family rooted in agriculture, with his father, Balasubramaniyan, working as a farmer, and his mother, Malaiyarasi, managing the household. Among his two elder sisters, Anusiya and Anuradha, Manikandan is the first to delve into competitive sports. His Kabaddi journey commenced at the age of 15, influenced by his father's passion for the game, leading him to assume the role of a Left Raider. His skill set notably includes the back kick and bonus techniques. Initially inclined towards cricket, it was his cousin, Tamilmaran, who guided him into the realm of Kabaddi, introducing him to matches and imparting essential skills. Manikandan is captivated by the expertise of Pardeep Narwal, particularly his adeptness in executing dubki maneuvers and consistent scoring performance in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). His accolades span various levels, including representing the South Zone University, Junior District, Junior State, and Junior National teams. Noteworthy achievements include being the runner-up in the CM Trophy, where he also clinched the Best Player award, and securing victory in the Junior District championship. Beyond Kabaddi, Manikandan retains an affinity for cricket, reflecting his sportsmanship and versatility. Currently pursuing a degree in BPES (Bachelor of Physical Education in Sports), he harbors aspirations of donning the jersey in the Pro Kabaddi League and securing a stable profession, embodying his dedication and ambition in the pursuit of sporting excellence.
