M Karthikeyan

Karthikeyan M was born on August 22, 2003, in Lalgudi, Tamil Nadu, into a supportive family. His father, Muthu Subramani, works as a timekeeper, while his mother, Jeeva, manages their household. He has an elder brother who also plays Kabaddi at the local level. Discovering his passion for Kabaddi at the age of 15, Karthikeyan found his calling as a Left Cover Defender, excelling in techniques like chain blocking. Under the guidance of Coach Soori at Aangarai Club, St Joseph's College Ground, Trichy, he honed his skills and rose through the ranks. Karthikeyan draws inspiration from his favorite player, Parvesh, who plays in the same position and serves as both an inspiration and a role model. His dedication and talent have earned him recognition as a District player and a State Winner in 2024, showcasing his prowess on the Kabaddi mat. Outside of Kabaddi, Karthikeyan enjoys playing cricket and football, displaying his sporting versatility. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Botany, demonstrating his commitment to both academics and sports. With career highlights including participation in the Isha Yoga Tournament and Yuva Kabaddi, Karthikeyan aspires to become a professional Kabaddi player. His journey is characterized by passion, determination, and a deep love for the sport, making him a formidable player on the field.
