M. Sivakumar, born on February 26, 2001, originates from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. Currently residing in Bangalore, Karnataka, he assists his father, Manikandan, in his garment business. His mother, Manisha, manages the household, and he has an elder sister named Hemalatha. At the age of 14, inspired by his cousin brother's kabaddi matches, Sivakumar embarked on his own kabaddi journey. Specializing as a Left Raider, his signature move is the jump. Under the mentorship of Coach K Prapanjan, who previously played in the Pro Kabaddi League for Tamil Thalaivas, Sivakumar honed his skills at Sankarigiri, Tamil Nadu, and BTM Sports, Karnataka. He admires Prapanjan for his excellent skills and supportive attitude, which greatly contributed to his development as a player. Sivakumar's kabaddi journey includes representing his team at various events, such as the Junior Nationals in Bangalore in 2022 and the South Zone University Games for CMR University in 2023. Outside of kabaddi, he is dedicated to his education and has completed his engineering degree. His career highlight includes winning the State Tournament in Mysore in 2022. Looking ahead, Sivakumar aspires to secure a job in the Tamil Nadu Police Department and represent the Police Team. His multilingual ability, fluent in Tamil, English, Hindi, and other languages, stems from his mixed cultural background, with his mother being Maharashtrian and his father Tamilian, and their settlement in Bangalore, offering him exposure to diverse linguistic environments.
