S. Karthikeyan

Karthikeyan S was born on June 2, 2001, in Theranippalayam, Trichy District, Tamil Nadu. His family consists of his father, Selvaraj, who works as a farmer, and his mother, Susila, a dedicated homemaker. He has an elder sister who doesn't play Kabaddi. Karthikeyan's journey in Kabaddi began relatively late at the age of 19, where he found his place as a Left Raider. His best skill lies in executing precise hand touches on the mat. Under the guidance of Coach Vetrivel at AZ Club, Althangarai, he hones his skills, drawing inspiration from his coach's experiences and guidance. Despite his late start, Karthikeyan has represented his district as a Junior District participant. He also excels in cricket, showcasing his sporting versatility. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English, he aims to complete his education in 2025 while nurturing his aspirations to become a professional Kabaddi player. Karthikeyan cherishes the special prizes he has received from various tournaments, fueling his determination to excel further in the sport. He admires his coach as a role model, reflecting the importance of mentorship in his journey. His story highlights the significance of perseverance and the pursuit of dreams, regardless of when the journey begins.
