Gokulnath, born on April 2, 2000, is a native of Salem, Tamil Nadu, and currently resides there. His father, Mathivanan, works as a driver, while his mother, Santhi, is a homemaker. Gokulnath has a younger sister named Abinaya, who does not play kabaddi. Though Gokulnath started playing kabaddi relatively late at the age of 19, he initially played cricket for a few years before transitioning to kabaddi. Excelling as a Right Cover Defender, his best skill is the Dash. He receives coaching from Pulendran, a retired Team India player, and his brother Yuvaraj, who is from the same village. Gokulnath practices at the Sports Club in Komarapalayam, Namakkal. Pulendran is Gokulnath's favorite kabaddi player, whom he regards as a legend in the sport. Gokulnath has represented various teams in several tournaments, including the South Zone University in Bangalore in 2023, as well as two Junior State and two Senior State tournaments. Apart from kabaddi, Gokulnath enjoys playing cricket, basketball, football, and participating in athletics. Currently pursuing his final year of MSc. Physics, his career highlight includes participating in the Yuva Kabaddi Series. Gokulnath aspires to represent Team India in kabaddi, showcasing his confidence and proficiency in English communication.
