Suriya Murugan

Suriya, born on December 18, 2002, entered this world in Kodumamalli, Tiruppattur, Tamil Nadu. His father, Murugan, earns his living as a daily wage worker, while his mother, Malarkodi, manages their household. Suriya is blessed with two younger sisters, Suvitha and Jesvanthi. Suriya's Kabaddi journey commenced at the age of 14, assuming the role of a Left Corner Defender. Renowned for his mastery over the double thigh hold technique, he trains under the guidance of coach Prabhu at the 7 Pookal ground and the PK Sports ground. Suriya holds Ajay Thakur in high regard, admiring his leadership qualities, reach, and the respect he shows towards fellow players. Beyond Kabaddi, Suriya finds joy in playing carrom, showcasing his diverse interests and talents in sports. Despite his representations being at the junior state and CM trophy levels, Suriya considers these achievements as significant milestones in his Kabaddi journey. Having completed his BBA degree in 2024, Suriya aspires to become a Sub Inspector, aiming to blend his passion for Kabaddi with a successful career in law enforcement. Suriya is a respectful player, driven by the desire to succeed both on the Kabaddi mat and in his professional life. With determination and dedication, Suriya aims to make a positive impact in both realms, honoring the values of respect and hard work instilled in him through Kabaddi.
