P Karthik

Karthik, born on July 15, 2000, is a native of Vilathikulam, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. His father, Paramasivam, works as a Daily Wage Worker, while his mother, Padma, is a Homemaker. Karthik has an elder brother named Madasamy. Discovering his passion for kabaddi at the age of 10, Karthik's skills were recognized and appreciated by others, motivating him to pursue the sport further. He excels as a Left Cover Defender, renowned for his swift Dash maneuvers on the court. Under the mentorship of Vishu, a close friend who trained him in the village, Karthik honed his kabaddi skills on the grounds where the Raju Boys Team practices together. He draws inspiration from Mahender Singh, a kabaddi player known for his powerful playing style, similar to Karthik's, earning him the nickname "Bulldozer." Karthik has represented his university in the South Zone Inter-University tournaments in 2019 and 2023, showcasing his talent on a broader platform. Apart from kabaddi, he enjoys playing badminton and actively participates in other sports. Having completed his graduation in Bachelor of Physical Education (BPed), Karthik aspires to become a college teacher and serve as a Physical Director, nurturing young talents in sports. Described as a jolly fellow by those who know him, Karthik brings his cheerful spirit both on and off the field.
