R Karthi

R Karthi, born on July 21, 2004, in Salem, Tamil Nadu, hails from a farming family, with his father and mother tending to the land. Karthi is the youngest child, with an elder brother named Gopi and an elder sister named Vimala. While Karthi is deeply involved in kabaddi, his brother Gopi showcases his skills on the college level. Karthi's journey in kabaddi began at the age of 14, embracing the role of an all-rounder, proficient in both the Left Corner and Right Raider positions. Under the guidance of Coach Elavarasan at 7 Lions in Chinnappampatti, he has developed expertise in techniques like the Ankle Hold and Bonus Skill, drawing inspiration from players like Md. Reza Shadloui for his mastery in the Ankle Hold technique. Beyond kabaddi, Karthi finds joy in playing cricket, showcasing his versatility in sports. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Tamil (BA), he aspires to excel academically while pursuing his passion for kabaddi. His notable career highlight includes representing his university at the South Zone University competition in 2024, reflecting his commitment to the sport. Karthi harbors aspirations of representing India on the international stage, driven by his determination and passion for kabaddi.
