M. Balayogi, born on January 15, 2002, in Thirukkalambur, Pudukottai, Tamil Nadu, continues to reside in his birthplace. His mother, Kasturibai, is employed in the Union, while his father, Muthuramalingam, doesn't have his occupation specified. He has an elder brother named Sathyashivan, who also plays kabaddi at the university level. Balayogi embarked on his kabaddi journey at the age of 14, inspired by a friend's involvement in the sport. Specializing as a Right Raider, his preferred technique is the Running Hand Touch. Under the guidance of coaches Ranganathan, Seliyan, Arivalagan, and Swamy, he refines his skills at Jamal Mohammad College in Trichy. Naveen Kumar, renowned for his speed and running hand touch, is Balayogi's favorite player, reflecting his admiration for swift and agile raiders. He has represented Bharatidasan University in 2023 and Tamil Nadu in the SGFI Nationals of 2019, showcasing his prowess at the university and national levels. Balayogi's career highlights include his participation in the Junior National Camp in 2021, where despite reaching the final round, he narrowly missed selection. The team subsequently won silver, making it a bittersweet memory for him, as he reflects on what could have been. Currently pursuing his BA History degree, Balayogi aspires to secure a government job in the future, demonstrating his commitment to both academics and his career goals.
