T Gobinath

In the YKS TN Clubs 2024 tournament, representing Team Durai Singam, we have T Gopinath. He was born on April 5, 2002, in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, where he currently resides. His father, Tirupandi, works in street maintenance, and his mother, Valimayil, is a farmer, cultivating wheat and rice. Gopinath has two elder sisters, Deepa and Kaleeshwari, and an elder brother named Ajith. While his elder brother plays kabaddi for fun, Gopinath actively participates in the sport. Gopinath started playing kabaddi at the age of 12 and specializes as a Left Corner Defender. His key skills on the field include the Ankle hold and Arch maneuvers. He is coached by Anand and practices kabaddi near his home. His favorite kabaddi player is Dharmaraj Cheralathan, known for his defensive prowess. Gopinath was inspired to start playing kabaddi after watching Dharmaraj play in person. Gopinath has represented his university in the South Zone Inter University tournament and has also participated in Senior State level competitions. He has achieved recognition for his defensive abilities, winning the best defender award in a Senior State event in 2022. Apart from kabaddi, Gopinath enjoys playing cricket. He is currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education. His career highlight so far is winning the best defender award in a Senior State tournament. His future aspiration is to join the police force and continue playing kabaddi at a competitive level.
