Chaitanya Jayant Raut, born on June 12, 2001, is a kabaddi enthusiast representing Satara in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. Originally from Nandgaon, Satara, Chaitanya currently resides in Satara City. His father, Jayant Gajanan Raut, runs a furniture business, while his mother, Varsha Raut, takes care of their household. Chaitanya has an elder sister named Shivani Raut, who does not play kabaddi. Chaitanya's journey in kabaddi commenced at the age of 15, inspired by senior players in his school who were passionate about the sport. Having been an avid follower of kabaddi since childhood, he was drawn to the game's intensity and strategy. Specializing as a left corner defender, Chaitanya's expertise lies in executing precise chain tackles, disrupting opponents' raiding attempts effectively. Under the guidance of coach Salman Shaikh at the Siddhivinayak Sports Club in Satara, Chaitanya has refined his skills and developed a formidable presence on the kabaddi mat. He draws inspiration from Girish Irnak, an accomplished Indian kabaddi player known for his exceptional performances in the cover position. Chaitanya has represented his district in kabaddi, showcasing his defensive prowess and earning recognition as the best defender in a local tournament. Notably, he competed for the Siddhivinayak Sports Club against SRPF, Daund, in 2019, displaying his talent and commitment to the sport. In addition to kabaddi, Chaitanya enjoys playing cricket locally. He has completed his Bachelor of Science degree and currently assists his father in their furniture business. With aspirations to venture into business himself, Chaitanya aims to apply the skills and determination he has honed through his kabaddi journey to succeed in his entrepreneurial pursuits.
