Anand Shinde, born on September 20, 2002, is a kabaddi player representing Satara in the KMP YKS 2024 tournament. Hailing from Satara, Maharashtra, Anand currently resides in his hometown. His father, Ashok Shinde, is a farmer and electric shop owner, while his mother, Shoba, manages their household. Anand has an elder brother, Alok Shinde, who does not play kabaddi. Anand's journey in kabaddi began at the age of 15 when he started observing matches in the local club tournaments of his town. Inspired by the passion and skill displayed by the players, he decided to take up the sport himself. An all-rounder, Anand excels in both defensive and offensive roles, specializing in the left cover and left raider positions. His signature moves include the running chain tackle in defense and the back kick in raiding. Under the guidance of coaches Pranav Leve and Gorpode at the Shivaji Udaymandal in Satara, Anand has honed his skills and developed into a formidable player. He draws inspiration from senior player Uthkarsh, who mentored him in the early days of his kabaddi journey, teaching him crucial techniques and strategies. Anand has represented his state in various championships, including the Senior State Championships in 2022 and 2023, as well as the Junior State Championship in 2022. Despite initial hesitation from his parents, who had not seen him play before, they witnessed his talent and passion during a local tournament, bringing immense joy to Anand. Apart from kabaddi, Anand enjoys playing cricket and is pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree. His ultimate aspiration is to make his parents proud through his achievements in kabaddi, showcasing his dedication and love for the sport.
