Akash Rathod

Akash Eknath Rathod, born on September 10, 2004, in Thakarwadi, Beed, Maharashtra, hails from a farming family, with his father Eknath and mother Sunita providing unwavering support. Alongside his younger brother Vikas, Akash found his passion for kabaddi at the age of 12, beginning his journey as a Left Cover Defender. Under the mentorship of coach Ketan Gaikwad at the Sharda Sport Academy in Georai Taluk, Akash has honed his skills, with his signature move being the Round Kick. He draws inspiration from Sanket Sawant, known for his exceptional blocking abilities while representing Puneri Paltan. Akash's talent has not gone unnoticed, with notable achievements including representing his school at the 2022 School Games in Delhi and clinching the gold medal at the 2024 Kridamahotsav in Raigad. Currently pursuing his college degree in B.A., Akash aspires to compete in the Pro Kabaddi League, fueled by his passion for the sport and the desire to showcase his talent at the highest level.
