Varun Khandale

Varun Vishal Khandale, born on February 13, 2005, in Pune, Maharashtra, currently calls Baramati his home in Maharashtra. His father, Vishal Khandale, is a businessman, while his mother, Soni Vishal Khandale, takes care of their home. Varun grew up alongside his elder sister, Upasana Vishal Khandale, although neither of them shares his passion for kabaddi. Discovering his love for the sport at the age of 13 while in school, Varun quickly found his place as a right corner defender. Under the guidance of coach Dadaso Awad at the Baramati Sports Academy, Varun perfected his skills, with a particular focus on the bonus technique. He admires the kabaddi prowess of Akash Shinde, especially his bonus moves, which inspire Varun's own gameplay. In addition to kabaddi, Varun also enjoys playing cricket, his favorite sport outside of kabaddi. Despite pursuing his education up to the 12th standard in the arts stream, Varun has already achieved notable milestones in his kabaddi career, representing at the Junior National level in 2024 and participating in Khelo India 2024. His career highlight includes being recognized as the best raider in a state-level match. With aspirations to represent India on the international stage, Varun dreams of donning the national colors and showcasing his talent to the world. His dedication to kabaddi and relentless pursuit of excellence fuel his ambition to one day make his mark in the global kabaddi arena.
