Kunwar Raj Anand, born on August 24, 2001, originally from Surat, Gujarat, currently resides in Mohadi, Dhule, Maharashtra. His father, Anand Kashinath, and mother, Anita, work hard to support the family, with Anita working as a housemaid. Kunwar has an elder sister named Mamta, though neither of them shares his passion for kabaddi. Starting his kabaddi journey at the age of 14, Kunwar found his calling as a Left Cover Defender, showcasing his talent for chain tackles and blocks. Despite working as a worker at MIDC, Kunwar dedicates his free time to training under the guidance of coach Dilip Salunke at Shivneri Krida Mandal, Mohadi. He draws inspiration from Aslam Inamdar, admiring his overall raiding style. Kunwar has represented his state in various kabaddi tournaments, including the Junior State Championships in Bheed 2019, Senior State Championships in Thane 2022, and the Mini Olympics in 2023. One of his career highlights includes scoring 8 crucial tackle points in an inter-college match in 2024, leading his team to victory. Outside of kabaddi, Kunwar enjoys playing netball and is pursuing a TYBSC in Computer Science. His ultimate aspiration is to don the national colors and represent India in kabaddi at the international level.
