Tejas Suryavanshi

Tejas Mahesh Suryawanshi, born on November 3, 2005, in Nashik, Maharashtra, currently resides in Niphad, Nashik. His father, Mahesh Suryawanshi, works diligently at a hospital as a ward boy, while his mother, Sangita Mahesh Suryawanshi, manages the household affairs. Tejas shares a close bond with his younger sister, Sakshi Mahesh Suryawanshi, who also shares his enthusiasm for kabaddi. Tejas discovered his passion for kabaddi during his school years, beginning his journey in the sport at the age of 15. Despite starting relatively late, his dedication and perseverance have propelled him to excel in his role as a left cover defender. His proficiency lies in executing thigh holds with precision, earning him recognition as a formidable presence on the kabaddi mat. Under the mentorship of coaches Anada Bybil and Shekhar Ahire at Ajad Gym Khana, Tejas has honed his skills, with a particular emphasis on mastering the art of the thigh hold. He draws inspiration from kabaddi player Pankaj Mohite, admiring his expert hand touches during raids. Tejas has represented his state with distinction, earning accolades such as the Best Defender in State matches. His achievements include participating in the Under 19 Kumar Junior tournaments consecutively from 2021 to 2023, showcasing his prowess and dedication to the sport. Beyond kabaddi, Tejas is pursuing his college education, currently enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor of Science program. Despite his commitment to kabaddi, Tejas also enjoys playing Kho-Kho and actively participates in other sports. With aspirations to don the national colors and represent India on the international stage, Tejas harbors dreams of becoming a stalwart defender for the national kabaddi team.
