Nikhil Rathod

Nikhil Anil Rathod, born on May 26, 2002, in Shingoli, Dharashiv, Maharashtra, currently resides in Jahagirdarwadi, Dharashiv, Maharashtra. His father, Anil Rathod, works as a farmer, while his mother, Anjana Rathod, manages the household. Nikhil shares a bond with his two younger brothers, Yashwanth and Ajinkya, with the latter also sharing his passion for kabaddi. Inspired by the boys playing kabaddi in his village, Nikhil discovered his interest in the sport at the age of 17. Initially joining as a right cover defender, Nikhil's proficiency lies in executing precise thigh holds, making him an asset to his team's defensive lineup. Under the mentorship of coach Nitin Humbe at Adarsh Vimukti Jati Ashram, Shingoli, Nikhil continues to hone his skills and strategy on the kabaddi mat. Nikhil has represented his state and district on multiple occasions, showcasing his talent and dedication to the sport. His career highlights include a memorable school match in 2019, where his team emerged victorious in a closely contested final against a school from Solapur. Despite his busy schedule as a veterinary doctor, Nikhil remains committed to his passion for kabaddi, aiming to strike a balance between his professional career and sporting aspirations. Off the kabaddi mat, Nikhil finds joy in watching and playing rugby, showcasing his diverse sporting interests. With role models like Pankaj Mohite and Aslam Inamdar, Nikhil aspires to emulate their raiding skills while also pursuing his career as a veterinary doctor.
