Tejas Zagade, born on October 27, 2004, in Solewadi, Beed, Maharashtra, grew up in a family deeply rooted in farming, with his father Ganesh Sopan Zagade and mother Archana Zagade providing constant support. Despite the tragic loss of his brother Atharva, who served as his early inspiration, Tejas found solace and purpose in kabaddi, starting his journey at the age of 12. A Left Corner Defender by position, Tejas has refined his skills under the guidance of coach Kailash Jagdale at the NDV School in Jam Gaon. His mastery lies in executing the Ankle Hold and Chain Block techniques with precision, drawing admiration for his defensive prowess. Tejas holds Surender Nada, a former international kabaddi player known for his formidable Ankle Holds, in high regard. His admiration for Nada stems from the player's illustrious career representing India and winning medals. Tejas has left his mark in competitions, earning a bronze medal at the 2019 School State event and showcasing his defensive prowess as the Best Defender of the day during the Kumargat tournament in Parbhani. Currently pursuing his education up to the 12th standard, Tejas harbors aspirations of serving as a police officer while also striving to compete in the Pro Kabaddi League and represent the Indian Kabaddi team, driven by his passion for the sport and his desire to excel on both the national and international stages.
