Sourabh Rathod

Saurabh Prakash Rathod, born on August 22, 2005, in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, currently resides and practices in his hometown. Hailing from a farming family, with his father Prakash Rathod engaged in farming and his mother SunitaBai as a homemaker, Saurabh discovered his passion for kabaddi at the age of 15. Inspired by watching Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) matches on television, he was drawn to the sport, particularly admiring the skills of players like Pradeep Narwal for his Dubki technique and Aslam Inamdar for his speed and bonus points. Specializing as a Left Raider, Saurabh's signature move is the Toe Touch, which he executes with precision and agility on the kabaddi mat. Under the guidance of his coach Ketan Gaikwad at Sharda Kabaddi Academy in Georai, Beed, Saurabh sharpens his skills and refines his technique, aiming to excel in the sport. Despite his dedication to kabaddi, Saurabh also enjoys playing cricket, showcasing his versatility in sports. Currently pursuing his education in the 12th standard from the Science stream, Saurabh has already achieved notable career highlights, including scoring the most raid points (9) for his team against Haryana in the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, where Tamil Nadu secured a bronze medal by defeating Madhya Pradesh. With aspirations to represent India in kabaddi and to join the ranks of the prestigious Pro Kabaddi League in the near future, Saurabh Prakash Rathod remains focused on his goals, driven by his passion for the sport and determination to succeed on the national stage.
