Ritesh Birje, born on October 15, 2004, in Khed, Ratnagiri, Maharashtra, currently resides in the same locality. Growing up in a supportive family environment, with his father Kashinath Birje and mother Kalyani Birje, who is a homemaker, Ritesh found inspiration in his elder brother, Shubham Birje. Observing his brother's passion for kabaddi, Ritesh began his own journey in the sport at the age of 15. Primarily taking up the role of a Right Cover Defender, Ritesh has showcased exceptional skills in front blocking, a technique he has refined under the guidance of his brother Shubham, who also trains alongside senior player Rakesh Baikar at the Kalkai Bharane club in Khed, Ratnagiri. Admiring the playing style and dedication of kabaddi icon Aslam Inamdar, Ritesh aspires to emulate his hero's work ethic and commitment to the game. Despite not yet having notable career highlights, Ritesh has represented his state in both Sub Junior and Junior State championships, demonstrating his potential and determination on the kabaddi mat. Outside of kabaddi, Ritesh harbors a passion for sprinting, particularly the 100m dash. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science, Ritesh aims to excel not only in kabaddi but also academically, as he prepares for the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) exams. With dreams of representing India in kabaddi and securing a promising career through MPSC, Ritesh Birje remains steadfast in his pursuit of success, fueled by his dedication, hard work, and determination to make his mark in both sports and civil services.
