Arjun Karande, born on May 10, 2002, hails from Bhistabagh, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, where he currently resides. Arjun's upbringing in a family with a strong kabaddi background, led by his father Ashok Eknath Karande, a Sub Inspector in the Pune Crime Branch and a National Kabaddi Medallist, deeply influenced his passion for the sport. From a tender age of 6, Arjun embarked on his kabaddi journey under the tutelage of his father, who instilled in him the skills and techniques essential for success on the kabaddi court. Arjun's original playing position as a right raider is complemented by his exceptional jumping abilities, making him a formidable force on the mat. His dedication to the sport saw him undergo rigorous training at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centers in Gujarat and Mumbai, honing his skills over six years. Despite facing setbacks, such as an unfortunate incident that prevented him from participating further after being selected in the Bengaluru Bulls Team as a New Young Player (NYP), Arjun remains resolute in his aspirations for kabaddi. His fondest memory in the sport was receiving praise from his father for an impressive hand touch during the Under-19 School State tournament in Nashik, where he clinched the gold medal. Beyond kabaddi, Arjun harbors a passion for chess, where he has secured a gold medal in various divisions. Currently pursuing his second year of BA, Arjun is determined to continue his journey in kabaddi, aiming to give his best and relish every moment on the mat.
