Meet Tannu Singh, a talented kabaddi player representing the Periyar Panthers in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on 24th July 2007 in Basi, Uttar Pradesh, Tannu is currently residing in Basi. She hails from a family rooted in agriculture, with her father, Satender, working as a farmer, and her mother, Anita, also contributing to farming activities. Tannu is the middle child with an elder brother, Sunny, and a younger brother, Akshay. Tannu embarked on her kabaddi journey at the age of 12, specializing as a Left Corner Defender. Known for her exceptional Back Hold technique, Tannu has honed her skills under the guidance of Coach Pawan Nain at the Nain Sports Academy in Basi. Her favorite kabaddi player is Pushpa Rana, a renowned Team India player known for her exemplary performances. In addition to her kabaddi pursuits, Tannu is a diligent student pursuing her College Graduation degree in Physical Education (BPES), currently in the first year. She has excelled in various levels of competition, representing her School, College, District, State, and even participating in Nationals. One of her notable achievements includes the Sub Junior Nationals in Uttarakhand in 2021, where her team secured a commendable third position. Tannu's outstanding performance during this tournament showcased her potential as a rising star in women's kabaddi. Apart from kabaddi, Tannu has a keen interest in the Running Chain skill. While she focuses primarily on kabaddi, she doesn't engage in any other sports currently. Looking ahead, Tannu aspires to secure a job in either the UP Police or Railways, combining her passion for kabaddi with a stable professional career. Her dedication, coupled with her natural talent, makes Tannu Singh a promising player with a bright future in the world of women's kabaddi.
