Meet Nikita, the dynamic left raider hailing from Hasangarh, Hissar, representing the spirited team Murthal Magnets in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on July 15, 2009, Nikita's journey in kabaddi is a testament to her passion, familial support, and the guidance of her dedicated coach. Nikita's father, Anil, earns a livelihood as a hardworking farmer, and her mother, Vinoth Kumari, manages their home with love and care. The family is complete with her younger brother, Deepanshu. Despite having no background in kabaddi, Nikita discovered her love for the sport at the age of 10-11, inspired by her cousin sister Seema, who was already making waves on the kabaddi mat. Her kabaddi initiation led her to the talented hands of coach Sandeep Jhangra, her one and only mentor. Sandeep not only trains Nikita in school but goes the extra mile, providing after-school coaching and constant motivation. Under his guidance, Nikita has developed a robust skill set, with her bonus move being a standout feature on the mat. Nikita's practice ground is the SBS Academy in Hasangarh, where she refines her raiding skills and prepares for the challenges ahead. Her favorite player, Naveen Kumar, serves as a beacon of inspiration for her, particularly admiring his raiding prowess. Having represented at various levels, including school, district, state, and national competitions, Nikita has garnered significant achievements. In the state-level competition in Hissar, she secured a bronze, showcasing her mettle. The Sub-Junior National in Jharkhand 2023 stands out as her best match, where Nikita's strategic raiding played a pivotal role in securing a gold medal for her team. Apart from kabaddi, Nikita indulges in handball as a time-pass sport, adding versatility to her athletic pursuits. Currently pursuing her education up to the 12th standard, Nikita aspires to play in the Asian Games and envisions a future where her kabaddi skills pave the way for her entry into the army.
