BIO

In the rustic village of Ludana, Jind, where the air is infused with the spirit of kabaddi, emerges Manjeet, the dynamic Left Raider representing the Murthal Magnets in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on August 7, 2002, Manjeet's story unfolds against the backdrop of Haryana's kabaddi culture, where every raid and tackle echoes the aspirations of a farming community. Manjeet's father, Surender, tills the fields as a farmer, and her mother, Mukesh, nurtures their home with care and dedication. The family is a bustling ensemble with one elder sister, two younger sisters, and a younger brother. The sporting spirit runs deep in the family as Manjeet's younger sister actively partakes in the kabaddi fervor. Embarking on her kabaddi journey at the age of 16, Manjeet found her calling as a Left Raider, a position that demands agility, strategy, and swift maneuvers. Under the tutelage of Coach Harpal Ghangash, Manjeet has honed her skills, with the "Running Hand Touch" standing out as her go-to move during high-stake matches. The Maharani Laxmibai Khel Academy in Ludana serves as the arena where Manjeet refines her craft, sprinting across the kabaddi mat with finesse. Her favorite player, Pooja Narwal, a renowned Haryana State Player who now dons the colors of the Railways, serves as a beacon of inspiration for Manjeet. She admires Pooja's raiding prowess and aspires to emulate her success. Beyond kabaddi, Manjeet's love for sports extends to Circle Kabaddi, showcasing her diverse athletic interests. Currently pursuing a degree in Physical Education (BPED), Manjeet has proudly represented her school, college, district, and state in kabaddi. A notable highlight in her career includes winning a washing machine as a prize in the Fatehabad Local Tournament in January 2024. Looking ahead, Manjeet harbors dreams of donning the national colors and playing for Team India, a testament to her unwavering dedication to the sport. With her swift raids and strategic prowess, Manjeet aims to make Ludana proud in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024 and beyond.
