In the heart of Guhna, Kaithal, Haryana, a rising kabaddi star, Kirti Sharma, adds her prowess to the Murthal Magnets in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on March 10, 2002, to Somdutt, a respected priest, and Bharpai, Kirti exemplifies grit and determination in her kabaddi journey. Currently stationed in Gadhwal, Sonipat, Haryana, for intensive training, Kirti's roots trace back to a family of five siblings—three elder sisters and one elder brother. Although her siblings don't play kabaddi, Kirti's passion for the sport ignited at the age of 13, carving her path as a formidable Right Cover Defender. Kirti's playing style is marked by the finesse of the "Slip" technique, adding versatility to her defensive repertoire. Under the guidance of Coach Surender Kumar, she hones her skills at the Base Academy in Sonipat, a crucible for nurturing kabaddi talent. Her favorite player, Aslam Inamdar from Puneri Paltan, leaves a lasting impression on Kirti. She admires his great speed and mental fortitude, qualities she aspires to emulate in her own game. Kirti has etched her mark in various arenas, representing her school, college, district, and state with distinction. Her love for the "Hand Touch" as a favorite skill showcases her agility on the kabaddi mat. Beyond kabaddi, Kirti reveals a penchant for Kho-Kho, a sport she used to actively participate in. A defining moment in Kirti's career came in 2022 when she secured the Best Defender Award at the Makroli Local Tournament in Haryana. This recognition serves as a testament to her defensive prowess and strategic acumen. Currently pursuing a BA degree in her 3rd year, Kirti Sharma harbors dreams of donning the national colors and playing for Team India.
