Anchal Mauryan

In the scenic city of Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, Anchal Maurya, born on July 24, 2003, emerges as a skillful Right Cover Defender, adding depth and resilience to the Periyar Panthers in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Anchal's journey is rooted in her hometown, where her late father, Sheshdhar Maurya, and her homemaker mother, Shashikala, nurtured a family alongside her younger brother Yash and sister Kajal. Anchal's introduction to Kabaddi unfolded at the age of 14, guided by Coach Hoob Lal at the homeground in Jagapati. Her original playing position as a Right Cover Defender showcases her strategic acumen on the Kabaddi mat. Anchal's best skill, the Hand Touch, is a testament to her ability to outmaneuver opponents with finesse. Drawing inspiration from the dynamic Pawan Sehrawat, renowned for his spectacular jumps and consistent Super 10s in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), Anchal holds Pawan in high regard. Representing at various levels, including College, District, State, and Nationals, Anchal's career highlights include being part of the Khelo India scholarship program in 2019. Balancing sports and academics, Anchal is pursuing a College Graduation degree in BSC, currently in her third year, with aspirations to play for Team India in the future. Beyond Kabaddi, Anchal's sporting interests extend to Kho Kho, showcasing her versatility in multiple sports.
