Amrit Dev Singh was born on July 5, 2003, in Kahnachak, Jammu, a place that holds a special spot in his heart. Growing up in a family of educators, with both his father, Bhadur Singh, and mother, Kamlesh Jamwal, teaching at a private school, Amrit was nurtured in an environment that valued knowledge and hard work. He has an elder sister, Minerva Jamwal, and a younger brother, Maheshwer Singh, who keep him grounded and motivated, even if they don’t share his passion for kabaddi. Amrit's love for the sport blossomed at 16 when he began competing. Watching kabaddi matches since childhood sparked an interest that led him to train diligently. His first coach, Anil, shaped his understanding of the game, emphasizing the importance of skills like blocking, which has become Amrit's favorite skill on the field. A left cover defender by position, he practices at MA Stadium in Jammu, where he hones his talents. His career has had some exciting moments, including leading the Tadoba Tigers to victory in his first match during the YKS Monsoon Edition 2023. With aspirations to represent India in kabaddi and compete in the Pro Kabaddi League, Amrit is poised to make his mark in the sports world, fueled by his dreams and dedication.
