Meet Ram Kumar, a rising star in the world of kabaddi, born on June 8, 2004, in the charming union territory of Puducherry. Growing up in a loving family with his father Ranganathan, an electrician, and his mother Muniamma, a dedicated housewife, he developed a strong sense of dedication and resilience. With three brothers, including his younger sibling VadanRaj, who also shares a love for kabaddi, Ram Kumar was never short of motivation and support. Ram's journey into kabaddi began at the young age of 12, inspired by the local players in his village who displayed their impressive skills. He quickly found his passion and took on the role of a Left Cover Defender, honing his craft with special focus on his favorite techniques like the Dash and Chain Tackle. His hard work paid off when he represented Puducherry in the Khelo India Sub-Junior event in 2018 and later competed in the Junior Nationals in 2023, significant achievements that mark his early career. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Ram Kumar dreams of one day serving in the Indian Army. He channels the discipline he learns from kabaddi into all areas of his life, and with aspirations as high as his spirits, the future looks bright for this talented athlete.
