Kamraju Kadraka, born on February 9, 2005, in the peaceful Bandhugaon village of Koraput District, Odisha, has always been surrounded by the rich culture of his homeland. Growing up in a family of farmers, where his father, Chandreya, and mother, Jamalu, toil in the fields, Kamraju learned the values of hard work and perseverance early on. He shares a close bond with his siblings—two elder brothers and a younger brother and sister—all of whom have not ventured into sports. At the age of 13, Kamraju's casual interest in kabaddi ignited into a passion when he participated in a school tournament. His impressive performance there caught the eye of selectors for the district team, leading to an exciting opportunity at the Puri Sports Hostel under the guidance of Coach Sharat Chandranand. Kamraju honed his skills as an all-rounder, showcasing his versatility in positions like Right Corner Defender and Left Raider. His favorite skill is the Hand Touch, something he admires in his idol, Pawan Sehrawat. Kamraju has represented Odisha in several Junior National tournaments and even participated in the Yuva Kabaddi Series Monsoon Edition 2023 in Madurai. With dreams of joining the Indian Army's kabaddi team, he’s driven by the desire to achieve greatness. Balancing his training with his studies in a Bachelor of Arts program, Kamraju is determined to make his mark in sport while honoring his roots.
