Biswajit Jena, born on November 7, 2002, in Ramachandrapur, Cuttack, hails from a close-knit family in Odisha. Growing up, Biswajit witnessed the challenges his family faced, especially after relocating to Mangalabag for better job opportunities. His father, Bipin Bihari Jena, works as a hospital attendant while his mother, Sunita, balances the household as a dedicated homemaker. With an elder sister, Subalaxmi, who is married and a younger sister, Rosaline, who works as an attendant in an eye hospital, Biswajit understands the importance of supporting one another. His journey into kabaddi began at 16, inspired by friends who played the sport. When he represented his state at the National level, Biswajit realized that he could carve out a career in kabaddi. Dedicated and passionate, he plays as a Right Cover Defender, and his favorite skill is the Chain and Dash—something he constantly hones under the guidance of Coach Ajay Kumar Behera at the Barabati Kabaddi Club in Cuttack. Biswajit’s aspirations are clear. He dreams of securing a job through the Sports Quota to alleviate his family’s financial burdens. Participating in events like the Yuva Kabaddi Series has been monumental for him, and he looks up to Manjeet Chhillar for inspiration thanks to his aggression on the field. Biswajit is determined to make a mark in the kabaddi world while also providing for his family.
