Tharniesh, born on September 27, 2006, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, currently resides in the same city. His father, Bala Murugan, runs a chicken shop, while his mother, Sumathi, is a homemaker. Tharniesh has a younger sister named Thamini, who also plays kabaddi and has participated in SGFI tournaments. Tharniesh embarked on his kabaddi journey at the age of 12, primarily assuming the role of a Left Corner Defender. His best skills include executing hip holds and thigh holds effectively. Under the guidance of Coach Maran at PG Brother, Tharniesh hones his kabaddi skills during practice sessions. Ajay Thakur is his favorite kabaddi player, admired for his impeccable toe touches, reach, and kicking abilities. Apart from kabaddi, Tharniesh enjoys playing Kho kho and is pursuing his education up to the 12th standard. He has represented Tamil Nadu in various tournaments, including the SGFI, Sub Junior National, and Senior State competitions. One of his career highlights includes representing Tamil Nadu in the Sub Junior National tournament. Tharniesh aspires to play in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and secure a government job, particularly in the Railways sector.
