Sakshi, a spirited kabaddi player hailing from Bupania, Jhajjar, is a formidable Left Corner Defender representing Panchala Pride in the JSG Women's Yuva Kabaddi Series 2024. Born on September 10, 2003, in Haryana, Sakshi's journey in the realm of kabaddi began in the 10th grade. Intrigued by the sight of girls from her village engaging in the sport, she decided to take up kabaddi. Initially playing in her village for about 4-5 months, Sakshi's passion for the game grew, leading her to join a hostel in Bahadurgarh, where she has dedicated the last six years to honing her skills. Daughter of Jaibir, a hardworking farmer, and Suman, a devoted homemaker, Sakshi's decision to become a defender was influenced by the admiration her father expressed for a fellow village girl, Ashu, who excelled as a Left Corner Defender. Under the guidance of her coach Sarita Maan, Sakshi refines her skills at Ambey Academy in Bahadurgarh and currently practices at ITBP. Her signature move, the Ankle Hold, showcases her prowess as a defender. With representations spanning School, College, District, State, Nationals, and University levels, Sakshi's achievements include securing the 2nd position at the Junior Nationals in Karnataka (SGFI) and a commendable 3rd place at the AKFI Junior Nationals in 2022. Despite a relatively short kabaddi career, Sakshi's performance at the Junior Nationals in Karnataka earned her recognition for her overall impressive play. Pursuing a College Graduation degree in BA, Sakshi aspires to don the national colors and play for India in the future.
