Prakash Jagwan's journey in the world of kabaddi began in the picturesque town of Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand, where he was born on July 26, 2005. Growing up in a family of three, with two elder brothers, Prakash often found inspiration watching the villagers play kabaddi. It wasn’t until he turned 18 that he decided to take the leap and immerse himself in the sport he admired so much. Currently residing in a hostel in Khanpur, Prakash trains diligently at Guruprasth Academy under the guidance of coach Shri Rishipal Singh Tomar. His position as a Left Cover Defender is a perfect match for his favorite skill, the thigh hold, and he also shines in executing running chain tackles. Reflecting on his experiences, he fondly mentions his friend Taufiq Umar, a valuable mentor from the Himalayan Tahrs team, who has played a significant role in shaping his skills. Prakash has ambitions that extend beyond just playing well; he dreams of making a mark in the Pro Kabaddi League, paving the way for future opportunities, including a respectable government job. This earnest young player is already making waves, having showcased his talent at the Junior Nationals in Hyderabad and the Senior Nationals in Maharashtra. With a passion for sports that encompasses volleyball and basketball, Prakash embodies the spirit of a determined athlete, ready to embrace whatever challenges come his way.
