Ashish Purso Velip, born on September 15, 2004, in the lovely town of Quepem, Goa, has always had a passion for kabaddi that runs deep in his veins. Growing up in a family where his father, Purso, worked as a farmer, and his mother, Pooja, took care of the home, Ashish found joy in playing sports from an early age. He started playing kabaddi at just 13, inspired by his dad, who was also a kabaddi enthusiast. Currently living in Barcem, Ashish is a proud member of the Vasco Vipers team. His favorite position on the field is that of a Left Raider. Ashish rigorously trains under the guidance of his coach, Gokuldas, practicing at the local ground at Paddi. His favorite skills include the Hand Touch, escape moves, and the exciting Dubki, which he has mastered over the years. Ashish has made some impressive strides in his kabaddi journey. A highlight for him was winning a bronze medal at the Junior Nationals in Telangana. Looking ahead, he dreams big—hoping to join the Pro Kabaddi League and represent Team India. When not on the kabaddi field, you might find him enjoying a game of football or volleyball, both of which he has played at the state level. With his determination and talent, there’s no doubt he’s on the path to achieving his dreams!
