A Bharath

Bharath A, born on November 21, 2000, originates from Pichampatti, Karur District, Tamil Nadu, and competes for the N.A. Academy in the YKS TN Clubs 2024 tournament. His father, Annavi, and mother, Dhanalakshmi, both work as daily wage labourers. Bharath has an elder sister named Yamuna. At the age of 13, Bharath began his journey in kabaddi, primarily as a Right Corner Defender, specializing in the dash technique. He receives guidance from his uncle, Vijayakumar, who also serves as the coach at Bharath's college. They practice at the PVK Sports Club in Karur District. Bharath's favorite player is none other than his uncle, Vijayakumar, whom he admires for his team-oriented approach and skills on the field. Throughout his career, Bharath has represented Karur District across various levels, including Senior State from 2020 to 2024, Junior State from 2017 to 2019, and Sub-Junior from 2015 to 2016. He also participated in the School State championship from 2015 to 2017, representing GHSS Krishnaroyapuram. Apart from kabaddi, Bharath enjoys playing cricket and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, in his second year, after completing his BA in Tamil. A pivotal moment in Bharath's career was winning the school state-level kabaddi championship, which transformed his perspective on the sport. Looking ahead, Bharath aspires to become a kabaddi coach in his village, aiming to nurture and guide young talent in the sport.
