Hailing from a family rooted in traditional sweets, with her father Zahir Hussain being a sweet master and her mother Jerina Begum managing the household, Kathija is breaking stereotypes as she pursues her passion for kabaddi. The family-oriented girl has a younger brother who, although not into kabaddi, is making waves in ball badminton for Coimbatore district, showcasing the family's sporting spirit. Kathija's tryst with kabaddi began in the 6th standard when her school coach, Senthilkumar, recognized her interest in the game. Senthilkumar's encouragement, along with sponsoring kits, ignited Kathija's love for kabaddi, and she hasn't looked back since. Known for her dynamic playing style, Kathija excels as a right raider, utilizing her best skill—the powerful kick.
