Born on March 14, 2002, in Srivilliputtur, Viruthunagar, Tamil Nadu, Muthupriya personifies skill and determination on the Kabaddi mat. Her father, P Karnan, serves not only as a driver but also as a Kabaddi coach, adding a familial touch to her sporting journey. Supported by her mother, Backiyalakshmi, a skilled tailor, and accompanied by two sisters - Pandieswari and Sundaraselvi, Muthupriya is a beacon of inspiration for her family. Muthupriya commenced her Kabaddi journey at the tender age of 11, assuming the role of a Left Cover Defender. Renowned for her electrifying Running Hand Touch, she draws inspiration from Chandran Ranjit, particularly admiring his skills and association with the Haryana Steelers. Muthupriya's training is a collaborative effort, with coaching from her father, Coach Karnan, the School PT Coach Kovil Pillai, and College Coach Kalyanasundaram. She diligently practices at the Mangapuram Sports Club in Virudhunagar and the LDC Sports Club in Madurai. Apart from her achievements in Kabaddi, Muthupriya is a multi-sport enthusiast, engaging in Silambaram, Athletics, Boxing, and Karate. Her love for Bonus points highlights her tactical acumen on the mat. Academically, she pursues a diploma in fitness training alongside her BA in English. Muthupriya's career highlights include the prestigious Best Raider Award at the Open All India competition in Tirunelveli District in 2022. Looking ahead, her aspirations are set on securing a spot in the Railways, showcasing her commitment to the future of Kabaddi.
