Born on January 3, 2003, in the serene town of Sundarnagar, Himachal Pradesh, Shivansh Thakur grew up amidst picturesque landscapes and a loving family. His father, Prem Singh, serves at the Government Electricity Board, while his mother, Saroj Kumari, nurtures young mind as a government school teacher. Alongside his supportive younger sister, Shivani, who also shares his love for kabaddi, Shivansh discovered a thrilling avenue for his energy and passion. At just 12 years old, Shivansh was captivated by kabaddi in his village, launching his impressive journey on the mat. For the last eight years, he has trained at the Sports Authority of India, learning from various coaches and excelling particularly in the chain tackle technique. His admiration for aggressive players like Ravinder Pahal fuels his drive to constantly improve and push his boundaries. As a Right Cover Defender, Shivansh has already made a mark, clinching a gold medal at the Khelo India Youth 2022 and reaching the quarterfinals at the Junior Nationals for two years in a row. Now pursuing a Master’s degree after completing his Bachelor of Arts, his dream is to don the national jersey and proudly represent India on the kabaddi stage.
